News from the Cherry Crest Library:

In fifth grade students come to our library for 20 minutes/1x week (see schedule below).  This time consists of a 5 minute mini lesson and a 15 minute check out.  Fifth graders can check up to 5 books out for a 2 week time period and place up to 5 holds at a time.  Visit:  https://destiny.bsd405.org with your student to view their account, log in, place holds, etc. from home.  Here is more information on what we’ve learned about so far this school year:

              *2024 WA state Sasquatch book award- 4^th and 5^thgraders are challenged & encouraged to read as many

                            of the 12 nominees for this award (voting will take place in Spring ’24).

                            *Students who read ALL 12 AND record their reading correctly will be invited to attend a celebration

                            with Mrs. Lux in June, earn a certificate and a small prize.

                            *All 12 books are available in our library, online through SORA and at the KCLS libraries.
