Walkathon 2018 "Ohana"

 

Walkathon 2018 is officially in the books.  It was great to see past, present, and future G5 students and their families walking to help our school community!!  I hope everyone had a memorable experience and enjoyed spending time with friends and family!  Here are some pics from the day!

Walkathon 2018

The Walkathon, on top of being a fundraiser, has also always been a great event for kids and families that brings the Comm(UNITY) together at the beginning of the school year, allows families to get to know each other AND have FUN. As in years past, students will walk during recess and afterschool from 2:30 – 3:45. This year, the students and families are invited to stick around to enjoy a Festival from 4-6pm.  Carnival games, a DJ and food trucks are just a few of the fun things in store!

Your child needs a permission slip in order to participate in the walkathon – Please turn in ASAP(remember we walk also during recess as a classroom). If you haven’t done so already, please complete the online permission slip.  Here is the link: http://walkathon.cherrycrest-ptsa.org

The Walkathon is a PTSA-sponsored family event and fundraiser that supports the bulk of the PTSA's working budget for the year. Here at Cherry Crest, all the field trips, special workshops, and presenters are provided for free to students through Cherry Crest PTSA.

We love the G5! Go Team!

Ms. Weaver and I are so motivated and thankful to teach our newest G5 team!!  We are looking forward to an awesome year with all of you!  G5LTW!

Bully Prevention Unit

This past Friday, our class started the first of four lessons focused on bully prevention.  Mr. Steere came into our classroom and taught the first lesson.  The BPU unit is a research-based curriculum that teaches our students how to recognize, report, and refuse bullying.  Thank you Mr. Steere for partnering with the G5!  G5LTW!

Orienteering 2018 Bridle Trails

Thank you to all the parent volunteers who braved the elements and actively participated with our students!  Although it was a little wet, the students were able to locate 9 points around Bridle Trails using a map and compass.  Great job G5!
