Dear G5, now G6 families…

Thank you so very much for your thoughtful and generous teacher gifts!  We are so incredibly thankful for your tokens of appreciation!

G6, it has been a honor serving with you on the battlefield of learning!  You are highly trained, motivated, and skilled in the art of learning.  Although you are not here anymore, your legacy will continue as the wind blows through the corridors of Cherry Crest.  Always do your best, take care of each other, and believe you can accomplish anything.  I'll end with this,  

The difference between school and life? 
In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test.

Final Days

Thursday, 6/22--GRADUATION

Graduation starts promptly at 6pm on Thursday evening.  Your child should arrive between 5:30-6pm to our classrooms upstairs.  We talked extensively about hats on Friday, but to clarify this is optional.  Cherry Crest tradition of grad hats is that they are supposed to be fun, creative and/or easy (store purchased or homemade are just fine!)  Because there are so many bodies, we ask that only students come upstairs when they arrive between 5:30-6pm.  At that time, parents can start to find their seats in the cafeteria/gym.

Friday, 6/23—CLASSROOM CLEAN OUT and POTLUCK/SOCCER MATCH

We will be doing a major classroom clean-out, so please send your child with a bag to bring all of their things home.  This can be an extra grocery bag, plastic/paper bag etc.  On Friday, we will also be doing a picnic/potluck.  Totally optional, but if your child would like to bring something to share (NO NUTS!), he/she is more than welcome to.  Many students talked today about how they wanted to bring in a family dish to share and/or cookies or treats they hope to make before Friday.

Monday, 6/26—END OF THE YEAR ASSEMBLY

End of the Year Assembly starts at 1:15pm.  Students may wear their graduation hats as we will be entering the end of the year assembly as we did for graduation. 

Tuesday, 6/27—REPORT CARDS

End of semester report cards will be sent home with students at the end of the day.  Dismissal is at 10am.  Happy Summer!
