Dear Cherry Crest Families:
The time has come to begin thinking about classroom placements for the 2015-2016 school year. Before we can place children in their classrooms, several things need to happen:
- We need to know our enrollment projections
- We need to decide on classroom configurations
- We need to determine teacher assignments
At Cherry Crest, we are fortunate to have an excellent staff capable of meeting the needs of a wide variety of children. A consistent elementary curriculum and strong grade level team structures ensure a quality educational program in each and every classroom.
Our goal during class placement time is to create balanced classrooms that will meet the needs of all children. In late June, we will spend a great deal of time as a staff and in grade level teams developing class groupings. We take into consideration male to female ratio, academic performance, social skills, learning styles, and special needs. We also value parent input. Creating balanced classrooms where children will be successful is a complex process, and we need your cooperation to make it work. Here is how you can help:
- Complete the two forms linked to this post below. Parent/Guardian Input for Class Placements, and Cherry Crest Elementary Enrollment Plans. Please return both forms to the Cherry Crest Office as soon as possible via hard copy or E-mail ([email protected]), but no later than Wednesday, May 13. If you would prefer to pick up a hard copy of the forms, they will be available in the main office.
- Refrain from requesting specific teachers by name. Input forms that request specific teachers will be returned.
- Alert us as soon as possible if you will not be returning to Cherry Crest next year. Please call Susie Nakamura at 425-456-4900 and leave a voice message if she is not available.

Thank you for all you do to support your child. We appreciate the opportunity to work together with you to create well-balanced classrooms at each grade level so that your child, and all others, will be successful.
Warmest Wishes,
Liz Ritz, Principal
