Call to Action // KING 5
Somehow (ahem, thanks Mr. Regala…), students found out that I was interviewed on KING 5 news this week about some issues I was having with my car’s Good to Go pass (I commute to/from Seattle each day, where I live). What I didn’t consider was how this situation actually is connected to the work that we do in 5th grade–persuasive writing!

The entire situation began with a letter that I wrote to the Good to Go office in Bellevue to ask for my money to be reimbursed; they had unfairly charged me because of the faulty transponder they had sold to me to place on my car. That letter was recognized and not only was I reimbursed the money, I was on KING 5 news as they were doing an investigation about faulty G2G passes! My advocacy and my “call to action” prompted a change and I am grateful for Mr. Regala in that he helped me recognize that this is a great example of what we’re doing this year with our students! You can make a difference!
