Update–Day 2: Ever wonder what 5,600 pieces of candy looks like? Here’s what we have in only two days of collecting! We didn’t even have time to finish counting this afternoon, which means we have well over our counted total of 5,600. Our “counters” have done a great job, using math strategies of making groups of 10 for easier counting and by putting their hundreds together so that their totals are easier to work with, i.e. one student has 375, another student has 125, working together to realize if they group together a box of 500 is easy to group and work with. I’ve seen such great things in the past few days and we’re looking forward to a great rest of the week! Thank you for your contributions and your patience! :)
