Social Studies Homework Due Wednesday

 

For tonight’s social studies homework, please use a separate sheet of notebook paper (SPONP) and answer the following questions.Please write in complete sentences. Don’t forget a heading on your paper (upper left hand side: name, date, subject)!

1. What is the Equator? What is the Prime Meridian?

2. Do we live in the Northern or Southern hemisphere? Do we live in the Eastern or Western hemisphere?

3. Name a country in the Southern hemisphere. Name a country in the Eastern hemisphere.

4. What are lines of latitude?  What are lines of longitude?

5. Lines of latitude and longitude are measured in what type of units: degrees, kilometers or centimeters?

6. What does the term ‘geography’ mean and why is it important for us to learn about?

7. Write the coordinate points of the city of where you were born.
