The month of October is almost over and the students of room 26 have been working hard. In math, the students just completed their unit 1 exam and should receive their scores tomorrow. They have started a mini unit on perimeter and area. The unit explores perimeter and area of rectangles, triangles, and parallelograms.
In science, the students continue to work with mixtures and solutions. They are currently learning new information about chemicals and how they are organized.
In literacy, the students have started Unit 2 titled, "Who are We". They look at heroes and the character traits they have, they engage in literature circles (click link to see it in action), the students learn interview skills, and they write a narrative based on an interview and present it to the class.
We are currently learning about the early explorers in social studies. The curriculum is very interactive and the students are really enjoying the unit. They enjoyed using their diving skills to search for artifacts located deep in a sunken ship. :)
Continue to encourage your child to stay motivated and work hard. They are doing great!

Hi Anthony,
I saw the highlights on the news and was shocked to see they lost. Hopefully, they start to win more games. Lockhart had more rushing yards than any of their running backs! Wow! Anyways, hope you're having a great weekend. PLEASE FIND YOUR BINDER OR HAVE A NEW ONE BY MONDAY!!!!
